Cold front may bring small hail to Fort Worth. Here’s when storms arrive this week
After a warm and rainy Monday, Dec. 16, a cold front is on its way to Fort Worth.
The front will move into the region late Tuesday, Dec. 17, into early Wednesday, Dec. 18, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. A chance of rain and cooler weather will arrive on the back of the front.
A few storms may be strong Wednesday, with small hail as the primary threat, according to the NWS. Severe weather is not expected at this time.
Temperatures are expected to drop down into the mid-50s during the day on Wednesday. By Wednesday night, temperatures may drop even further into the low 30s, according to the NWS.
Cool and dry week ahead in Fort Worth
After a busy Wednesday, the weather outlook for the rest of the week is cool and dry.
Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 50s on Thursday, Dec. 19, and Friday, Dec. 20. Sunny and clear skies are expected on Thursday and Friday.
Going into the weekend, rain-free weather and temperatures in the uppers 50s are expected, according to the NWS. By early next week, moisture and warmer temperatures are expected to return to the forecast.
