These Texas cities rank as the most festive in the U.S., according to a travel agency
Texas is full of Christmas cheer with three cities ranked within the top 10 of the most festive in America.
Travelbag, an award-winning, U.K.-based travel agency, conducted a study based on monthly Google search volume data for Christmas topics to see which cities are the most festive. Keywords like “Christmas cookies” and Christmas movies” were used as search terms.
The study looked at 30 U.S. cities. Seattle won the top spot, with 13,110 monthly Google searches of Christmas-related topics. Dallas ranked as the No. 5-most festive city in 2024. The other two Texas cities that made the list are Houston at No. 8 and Austin at No. 9.
Houston is the largest city by population in Texas, at 2.3 million people.
Dallas has a population of 1.3 million and Austin has around 979,000. Dallas and Fort Worth are the third- and fourth-largest cities by square mileage in Texas.
Why did Dallas rank so high?
Per every 10,000 residents in Dallas, there were 132 searches for Christmas-related topics, according to the study. Houston had 109 searches per every 10,000 and Austin was just behind at 106.
The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex has many Christmas attractions for residents to take advantage of.
A separate ranking said the Galleria Dallas has the fourth-best ice skating rink in the country. More Olympians have performed at that rink than at any other rink in the state, and the Galleria Dallas also houses the largest indoor Christmas tree in Texas.
But what about the rest of the country? Let’s take a look at the most festive cities in America.
