Fort Worth hotel and its restaurant ranked as the best in the country — again
Once again, Hotel Drover and its restaurant 97 West are representing Fort Worth well by gaining national recognition.
In OpenTable’s top 100 hotel restaurants rankings, 97 West prevailed as the only Fort Worth pick. Sister in the Casa Duro Hotel and Stillwell’s in Hotel Swexan, both in Dallas, also made the list.
In another ranking, Travel + Leisure placed Hotel Drover on its World’s Best list for the fifth year in a row (so, since the hotel opened). Again, this was the only Fort Worth brand to be recognized in the ranking.
Hotel Drover and 97 West both opened in Fort Worth in March 2021, anchoring the $175 million Mule Alley. Instantly, the luxury western hotel rivaled Fort Worth’s other high-end hospitality options like the Omni and Worthington Renaissance. When the Michelin Guide came to Texas in 2024, Hotel Drover received a Michelin Key, which is the hotel equivalent to a restaurant’s Michelin star.
97 West Kitchen and Bar
In the Star-Telegram’s roundup of most-reserved restaurants, 97 West is commonly within the top 10 for most booked restaurant each month.
The favorite dish from the western inspired restaurant is a New York strip chicken fried steak, which is breaded lightly, then drenched in creamy gravy made from house-made smoked sausage.
But customers also love their chicken fried oysters, Akashi strip steak and cheeseburger. As for the bar portion, the smokin’ marg is a fan favorite.
Reservations for 97 West can be made on OpenTable.
Hotel Drover
Hotel Drover is a four-star hotel by the Autograph Collection.
Reflecting its location in Fort Worth’s Historic Stockyards, the charming hotel features odes to the original Texas drovers (animal herders) with longhorn skulls, rustic wood and leather accents and plenty of turquoise. It is located just down the street from Exchange Avenue where drovers drive the longhorn cattle twice a day.
