A body was recovered on Saturday, June 14, at Eagle Mountain Lake and is believed to be a 43-year-old Azle man who went missing earlier in the week, officials said.

Police recovered the body from the lake around 7 p.m., the Tarrant Regional Water District said in a press release.

The body is believed to be that of Ruben Fausone, of Azle, and was found near Pelican Island north of the location where Fausone was last seen, according to the release.

The body has been transferred to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for official identification.

Fausone was seen on surveillance video entering Twin Points Park with his boat and trailer for a fishing trip about 8:10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, according to the Tarrant Regional Water District police.

His cellphone last pinged near Augie’s Sunset Cafe and Marina, and witnesses reported seeing him around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday near the Augie’s dock, officials said.

TRWD police officers found Fausone’s unoccupied truck and trailer at Twin Points Park on Wednesday afternoon. His empty boat was found on Eagle Mountain Lake, but there was no sign of the missing man at that time, the department said in a news release.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remains ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to call TRWD’s Communications Center at 817-720-4584.
