43-year-old missing after night fishing trip to Eagle Mountain Lake, police say
A family is looking for answers after a 43-year-old Azle man disappeared Tuesday at Eagle Mountain Lake in Fort Worth.
Ruben Fausone was out night fishing at the lake and didn’t return home, his wife, Amy Fausone, said in a Facebook post.
Tarrant Regional Water District police officers found Ruben Fausone’s unoccupied truck and trailer at Twin Points Park on Wednesday afternoon. His empty boat was found on Eagle Mountain Lake, but there was no sign of the missing man, the department said in a news release.
Ruben Fausone was seen on surveillance video entering Twin Points Park with his boat and trailer about 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, according to the release. His cell phone last pinged near Augie’s Sunset Cafe and Marina, and witnesses reported seeing him around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday near the Augie’s dock.
Amy Fausone told KTVT-TV that her husband often went night fishing. They exchanged texts around 8:20 p.m., and that was the last communication from him.
“I woke up around 11:45 and thought, ‘It’s almost midnight, why isn’t he home?’” Amy Fausone said to KTVT.
TRWD police are continuing to search for the missing man with the help of the Texas Game Wardens, according to the news release.
Anyone with information about Ruben Fausone’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Tarrant Regional Water District’s Communications Center at 817-720-4584.
The missing man was last seen wearing a teal Hurley shirt and gray Huk board shorts, according to Amy Fausone’s post.
“Right now, I’m hoping somebody reaches out and can tell us he’s OK,” Amy Fausone said to KTVT. “I just want to find him and make sure he’s OK.”
