Own a piece of Kennedy family history with this Fort Worth home on sale for $2.8M
A Fort Worth home with decor from former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis is on the market.
The 5,000-square-foot, three-story house is located within walking distance of River Crest Country Club at 1720 Western Ave., according to Williams Trew Real Estate. The house, built in 1943, is on the market for $2.8 million.
Among the many fixtures in the home, including marble fireplaces and a built-in breakfast banquette, there’s a couple pieces from Kennedy Onassis.
The front door of the house was custom-made for Kennedy Onassis’ New York City apartment, with windows designed to resemble the windows at Ellis Island, realtor Joseph Berkes said. The house also contains a wardrobe from Kennedy Onassis’ apartment.
A $2.8 million ‘elegant retreat’
The property features four beds, five full baths and one half bath on 0.2 acres.
A white picket fence welcomes guests onto a covered porch, where they will find the custom door from Kennedy Onassis’ apartment. Inside the home lies hardwood floors, crown molding and millwork throughout.
In the kitchen, guests will find custom cabinets, marble countertops and the built-in breakfast banquette. As for the bedrooms, here’s what the listing says:
“Upstairs, the primary suite is an elegant retreat with paneled walls, custom drapery, and beautifully detailed cabinetry in the bath and dressing areas,” the listing reads. “Curated fixtures throughout the home give it a layered, high-end look.”
