Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Landman’ renewed for season 2. When will it film in Fort Worth?
Taylor Sheridan’s “Landman” has officially been renewed for season 2.
Paramount announced the renewal Wednesday and also shared that “Landman” was among the most viewed shows on subscription video on demand (SVOD) in the fourth quarter of 2024.
The Billy Bob Thornton-led series premiered on Paramount+ in November 2024 and wrapped its 10-episode first season on Jan. 12. The drama is co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, who created the “Boomtown” Texas Monthly podcast that the show is based on.
Filming for season 2 should start by the end of March, according to casting notices.
Will ‘Landman’ season 2 film in Fort Worth?
Yes, the show is expected to bring production back to Cowtown later this month.
“Landman” season 1 filmed in and around Fort Worth from February to June 2024. While Paramount didn’t officially say production is heading back to Cowtown, casting notices have mentioned filming in the area..
Multiple casting notices from Legacy Casting state that production will begin by the end of March. One notice states that filming will take place on TCU’s campus.
The series is also slated to film at Bowie House and The Crescent Hotel, according to recent city filings. Additionally, filming is scheduled for the “Patch Cafe” set at 9840 Camp Bowie West Blvd.
Running the numbers on ‘Landman’
“Landman” had 35 million global streaming viewers for its Nov. 17, 2024, premiere episode, according to Paramount.
The season 1 premiere and finale were the most watched of any series in Paramount+ history. “Landman” was also the top original project ever on the streaming service, the company said.
“Landman” came in at eighth on Nielsen’s top 10 list for SVOD originals in the fourth quarter of 2024. Other Paramount+ series in “Tulsa King” (fourth) and “Lioness” (ninth) also cracked the list.
Additionally, Thornton picked up a Golden Globe nomination for his work in season 1.

The first season starred Thornton, Chávez, Lofland, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Colm Feore, Mark Collie, Demi Moore and Jon Hamm. Michael Peña, Andy Garcia and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones appeared in guest roles.
