Taylor Sheridan’s “Landman” is gearing up to film season 2 in Fort Worth later this month.

The Billy Bob Thornton-led series premiered on Paramount+ in November 2024 and wrapped its 10-episode first season on Jan. 12. The drama is co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, who created the “Boomtown” Texas Monthly podcast that the show is based on.

“Landman” season 1 filmed in and around Fort Worth last year, and will return for season 2 in late March.

Texas-based Legacy Casting posted a couple casting notices for “Landman” season 2 on MyCastingFile, a website used to cast extras and background actors.

How to get on ‘Landman’

One casting notice is for a baby around 6 months to appear as Ariana’s son. El Paso native Paulina Chávez portrays Ariana, a grieving mother who starts a relationship with Cooper Norris (Jacob Lofland) over the first season.

Ideally, Legacy said they’re looking for twin Latino boys around 6 months for the part, but will also consider girls.

“We don’t have exact dates yet but he could be needed throughout filming on and off for a few weeks,” the casting notice said. “Filming is Fort Worth in the Benbrook area.”

The Benbrook area makes sense, since the filming location for Ariana’s house is located at 1103 Park Center St.

Another casting notice from Legacy is looking for stand-in actors, who will take the place of principal actors as the crew adjusts camera angles and lighting setups.

Legacy said they’re developing a pool of stand-in actors for the show, ahead of cameras rolling later this month. Typically, regular stand-ins are needed three to five times a week and 12 hours a day.

No date has been set for filming, but production will take place sometime later this month in Fort Worth and other local suburbs.

“We’ll be posting other casting notices for additional roles soon so please keep checking back,” Legacy said.

Pay rates for both the baby and stand-in actors are around $200 a day. Applications for stand-in casting are here and applications for baby casting are here. You can also email Legacy directly at extras@legacycasting.com.

More about ‘Landman’

“Landman” is described as a “modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of West Texas oil rigs.”

The first season starred Thornton, Chávez, Lofland, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Colm Feore, Mark Collie, Demi Moore and Jon Hamm. Michael Peña, Andy Garcia and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones appeared in guest roles.

“Landman” season 1 proved to be huge hit for Paramount, scoring 5.2 million total viewers on its Nov. 17 premiere.

Through its first four weeks, “Landman” scored 14.9 million Paramount+ viewers, which made it the top project ever to debut on the streaming service, according to Paramount.

Paramount hasn’t officially announced “Landman” season 2, although much of the cast have expressed interest in coming back for another go-around.

“I think there’s so much story to tell. Again, fingers crossed,” Chávez told the Star-Telegram in December. “Haven’t heard anything but I’m very excited.”

“Landman” season 1 is available on Paramount+.
