Nearly two weeks after picking up an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song, a Fort Worth musician performed the tune on a late night talk show.

Fort Worth’s Abraham Alexander and Austin’s Adrian Quesada were the musical guests on Tuesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” The duo performed their Oscar-nominated song “Like a Bird” from the film “Sing Sing.”

Alexander called the opportunity a “dream” in a social media post over the weekend.

“We are so grateful for this moment and for everyone who’s been on this journey with us,” Alexander posted to Instagram. “Catch us on Feb 4th it’s going to be special.”

Watch their performance below.

Alexander and Quesada were just a couple of the Texans nominated for their work on “Sing Sing.”

The film’s director/co-writer Greg Kwedar, who is from Fort Worth, shared a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination with co-writer and Dallas native Clint Bentley. Clarence Maclin and John “Divine G” Whitfield also shared the nomination as co-writers on the film.

Alexander shared his excitement on Instagram, saying he had no words to express that Oscar-nominated feeling.

“I’m still trying to find the breath to express how I feel right now but it’s falling short ... so for now,” Alexander wrote on Jan. 23. “From the bottom of my heart, @theacademy thank you so much.”

“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” airs at 10:35 p.m. nightly on ABC.

Fellow Oscar nominee Demi Moore (“The Substance”) was a guest on Tuesday’s episode, along with musician Gavin Rossdale. Alexander and Quesada closed out the show with their rendition of “Like a Bird,” which can be heard below.
