Over 1,000 animals ranging from dogs, cats and small furry pets will be available for adoption during the MEGA Adoption event in Fort Worth from Saturday to Sunday.

The MEGA Adoption event is held by the Humane Society of North Texas and the city of Fort Worth. In July, the Humane Society’s MEGA Adoption event was postponed due to a distemper outbreak.

The event will be held at Will Rogers Memorial Center Cattle Barn #1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. A $10 adoption fee includes spay/neutering, microchipping, rabies, core vaccination and 30 days of pet insurance.

Animals cannot be reserved in advance, according to the Humane Society website.

On Friday afternoon, the Fort Worth Police Department motor unit escorted the animals to Cattle Barn #1 in preparation for the event.
