Another name was added to the list of Godley police officers arrested in a prostitution scheme, and the former chief now faces an additional charge.

Jeremy Arbuthnot, a former officer, was arrested on Wednesday and faces charges of organized criminal activity. The bond for Arbuthnot is set at $500,000, according to Johnson County Jail records.

In response to a Star-Telegram request for comment reading Arbuthnot’s involvement in the investigation, the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office said it “can confirm that there has been another arrest related to an ongoing investigation in Godley.”

“We do not have an anticipated date of conclusion for the investigation,” the DA’s office said. “When we can provide additional information without the possibility of compromise, a comprehensive press statement will be released.”

In addition to Arbuthnot, former police officer Solomon Omotoya was arrested in the case on April 2 and faces a charge of soliciting prostitution.

Former chief faces additional charge

Mathew Cantrell, the former police chief, was arrested again on Monday, April 27, on a charge of organized criminal activity with a bond set at $500,000. The DA’s office did not provide further details about the new charge Cantrell faces.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by the Star-Telegram, Cantrell was initially arrested on promotion of prostitution charges after he was accused of soliciting a man to have sexual contact with his wife in exchange for money.

During his role as chief, Cantrell misused official information to conduct criminal searches on people involved in a lawsuit with Ashley Ketcherside, including a public official, the affidavit states.

Cantrell is accused of collaborating with Michael and Ashley Ketcherside to compile information on Godley public officials and private citizens that they “perceived as adversaries.”

Ashley Ketcherside, accused of prostitution, faces a charge of racketeering/unlawful debt collection. Her husband, Michael Ketcherside, who was initially arrested on a charge of continuous promotion of prostitution also faces an additional charge of racketeering, according to Johnson County jail records.
