Teen arrested in Fort Worth house party killing; another victim was shot nearby

Police have arrested an 18-year-old suspect in a July killing during a fight at a south Fort Worth house party during which another person was shot to death in a vehicle nearby.

Jaden Grays was booked on Monday on suspicion of capital murder in the shooting death of Emiliano Serna, who was slain in the grass outside the house in the 7100 block of Avington Way.

Fort Worth police have not described the fight in detail.

Serna, 19, was shot in the torso.

In the same block at the same time on July 21, 18-year-old Logan Cantrell, was also shot to death.

Cantrell’s aunt has said he was getting into his vehicle when he was apparently hit by a stray bullet from the fight happening at the party a few houses down.

Cantrell’s death was caused by a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
