53-year-old woman fatally stabbed in back yard of Arlington home, police say
Arlington police found a woman fatally stabbed Monday morning in the back yard of a home in the 1000 block of Shortleaf Pine Drive.
A family member of the victim called police and reported finding the 53-year-old woman bleeding and unresponsive in the yard.
When officers arrived about 9 a.m., they found that the woman had multiple apparent stab wounds.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the victim.
“Based on their preliminary investigation, detectives do not believe this was a random attack and that the woman likely knew her killer,” Arlington police said in a news release.
No arrests have been made in the case.
The investigation is ongoing and homicide detectives are looking into leads.
Anyone with information about the killing is urged to call Detective Robinson at (817) 459-5935. Tipsters can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at (817) 469-8477.
