Arlington police found a woman fatally stabbed Monday morning in the back yard of a home in the 1000 block of Shortleaf Pine Drive.

A family member of the victim called police and reported finding the 53-year-old woman bleeding and unresponsive in the yard.

When officers arrived about 9 a.m., they found that the woman had multiple apparent stab wounds.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the victim.

“Based on their preliminary investigation, detectives do not believe this was a random attack and that the woman likely knew her killer,” Arlington police said in a news release.

No arrests have been made in the case.
