A 17-year-old was wounded in a shooting near an event venue in Arlington where the victim had attended a party Saturday night, police said.

Officers responded about 11 p.m. to the venue in the 2800 block of Galleria Drive after they received reports of loud music and possible underage drinking.

When officers arrived, they could hear gunshots coming from a parking lot west of the venue. They found the 17-year-old male victim on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.

Investigators believe the victim attended a party that was held at the event venue before the shooting.

Detectives are investigating to try to determine what led to the shooting. They have not made any arrests, police said in a news release Monday morning.
