The family of 19-year-old Anthony Rangel, who was shot and killed in Fort Worth’s Northside in June, is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect.

Rangel, who had recently celebrated his birthday, was killed and two other people were injured in the shooting at a graduation party in the 3700 block of North Houston Street on June 15, according to police.

An arrest warrant on a murder charge has been issued for the suspect, 28-year-old Daleshawn Hopson, who also goes by the nickname “Bolo,” Fort Worth police confirmed.

Fort Worth police are searching for 28-year-old Daleshawn Hopson in connection with the June 15 shooting that killed Anthony Rangel.

Hopson was recently seen wearing dreadlocks but may have changed his hairstyle. He is identifiable by two distinct facial scars — one beneath his left eye and another over his right eyebrow, Rangel’s mother, Josie Solis, said in an email.

Hopson might be hiding on the West Coast and has known ties to Stockton, California; Washington State; and Fort Worth. His current location is unknown, according to the email.

Bystander killed in ‘senseless tragedy’

Rangel was killed as a bystander in a “senseless tragedy” at the party, his family has said.

The family has been told that a young woman at the party started a fight and called someone for backup, who then arrived and began shooting randomly, the teen’s aunt Lucy Rangel previously told the Star-Telegram.

Rangel died from gunshot wounds to his arm and torso, according to the medical examiner. No arrest has been made in the case.

“We are going to fight, and we will not rest until we find out,” Lucy said in her conversation with the Star-Telegram. “He has a full army behind him that’s ready to investigate, to get down to the details of what happened and find the killer.”

The Fugitive Unit is searching for Hopson, and Rangel’s family is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest.

Anyone with information about Hopson is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 817-469-8477. Tips can remain anonymous and may also be submitted online at www.469tips.com.
