Got him! Tips lead to arrest of suspected armed serial robber in Arlington

A suspected serial robber who authorities say has hit more than a dozen targets in Arlington and the Fort Worth area was in custody Wednesday, according to Arlington police.

Arlington police identified the suspect as 32-year-old Sean Venerable.

He was in the Arlington Jail on two counts of aggravated robbery and more charges are expected, Arlington police said.

Since Feb. 21, Venerable is accused of holding up mostly drug stores in Arlington, Fort Worth and Mansfield.

In each robbery, the suspect was armed. A resident was assaulted in one holdup, Arlington police said.

Police said tips led detectives to identify Venerable and arrest him on Tuesday afternoon at a motel in the 1200 block of N. Watson Road in Arlington. He was arrested without incident.

Last week, Arlington police released new surveillance photographs of the suspect in hope that someone would recognize him and contact police.

The robber struck at a Domino’s Pizza, a Walgreens and a Pizza Hut on one night last week. No injuries were reported.

The suspect has robbed at least 10 stores and three residents in Arlington, Arlington police said.
