Robber accused of pistol whipping Haltom City clerk also a suspect in Grand Prairie

A robber who pistol-whipped a clerk at a Haltom City store is the same suspect in other holdups in North Texas, according to local authorities.

Detectives believe the armed bandit also struck in Grand Prairie.

Haltom City police on Tuesday released surveillance camera photographs of the suspect in hope that someone would recognize him and alert authorities.

The photo showed the robber brandishing a handgun and wearing sunglasses and gloves.

The holdup occurred on Jan. 16 at the Dollar General store at 4940 Western Center Blvd. in Haltom City.

The robber took an undisclosed amount of money from a clerk and then pistol whipped the employee, who had been complying with the robber’s demands, Haltom City police said.

The bandit then fled the store.

The victim was transported to a hospital for evaluation and released.

Two days later, the same suspect and this time with an accomplice robbed a Whataburger in Grand Prairie, police said.

At about 2 a.m. on Saturday, two armed robbers entered through a back door of Whataburger in the 1400 block of North Texas 161 in Grand Prairie and demanded cash from employees.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 972-988-8477.
