Masked robbers beat man with baseball bat, rob couple in Dalworthington Gardens home

A Dalworthington Gardens man was in serious condition Tuesday after two men wearing ski masks beat and robbed him at his home on Monday, according to police and news reports.

The man’s wife was tied up during the home invasion.

Two men broke into the home about 5:45 p.m. Monday in the 3600 block of Gardenia Drive in Dalworthington Gardens, police said in a news release. The town is in Tarrant County between Fort Worth and Arlington.

The robbers tied up the man’s wife with duct tape and waited for the man to arrive home. The man owns a gold and silver exchange business, according to KDFW-TV.

When the home owner arrived, the suspects beat him with a baseball bat and restrained him before ransacking the home for valuables, Dalworthington Gardens police said.

After the robbers left the home, the woman managed to break the duct tape and called 911 about 7 p.m. Monday.

Dalworthington Gardens police continued their search Tuesday for suspects.

No detailed description of the suspects has been released.

The robbers may have been surveilling the home before they broke in, according to a report on DFW Scanner.

Police said the home invasion appears to be an isolated incident. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective Steve Yancy at (682) 330-7408.
