Teen dies after being found critically wounded in front yard of Fort Worth home

A teen found critically wounded in a yard died Tuesday afternoon at a Fort Worth hospital, authorities said.

Officials with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Javien Calvin Wright, 17, of Fort Worth. Wright died at 1:23 p.m. Tuesday at a local hospital. A ruling on his death is pending an autopsy.

No one has been arrested in the case.

Patrol officers responded to the shooting call shortly after 6:30 a.m. Monday in the 1500 block of East Mulkey Street.

A caller reported a man was lying in her front yard with a gun beside him, according to a police call log.

The man had a gunshot wound to his head, the homeowner told police. The homeowner also said she did not know the victim.

The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition Monday, authorities said.
