Man found shot, critically wounded in front yard of southeast Fort Worth residence

A man was found shot in the front yard of a home Monday morning in a southeast Fort Worth neighborhood, police said.

A motive for the shooting has not been released by police.

Patrol officers responded to the shooting call shortly after 6:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of East Mulkey Street.

A caller reported a man was lying in a yard with a gun beside him, according to a police call log.

The man had a gunshot wound to his head, the homeowner told police. The homeowner also said she did not know the victim.

The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, authorities said.

Officers on the scene requested homicide detectives to assist in the investigation.

No arrests have been made in the case.

The name of the victim has not been released by police.
