Robbers shoot Fort Worth-area man after he told them he didn’t have money or phone

A man walking down a Haltom City street was shot and wounded Monday night during a robbery, Haltom City police said.

A suspect shot the man in the leg after the victim told robbers who had demanded money and his phone that he had neither.

The victim was taken to a Fort Worth hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Haltom City police continued on Tuesday to investigate the incident.

Haltom City officers responded to a shooting call about 9:45 p.m. Monday in the 4000 block of Haltom Road.

The victim told police that two men stopped their vehicle, a 2000 model silver Toyota Corolla or Hyundai and approached him.

The suspects demanded money and his phone.

At some point, one of the suspects who was armed with a weapon fired at the victim.

Haltom City police searched the area, but no suspects were located, and no arrests have been made.
