Suspect posing as maintenance worker kicks open apartment door, shoots Fort Worth man
An unknown man posing as a maintenance worker opened fire on another man in an apartment in southwest Fort Worth on Tuesday morning, critically wounding the victim, Fort Worth police said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital.
After the shooting, the gunman fled the scene.
The shooting was reported shortly after 9:30 a.m. in the 7300 block of Savoy Drive.
A caller reported her brother had been shot, according to a police call log.
Witnesses told police the suspect knocked on the door of an apartment, identifying himself as a maintenance worker.
A woman opened the door, but locked it when she saw the armed suspect, Fort Worth police said.
The suspect kicked open the door and shot a man who was lying on a sofa in the apartment.
The victim, whose name wasn’t released, suffered multiple wounds on his leg and arms, Fort Worth police said.
Police were on the scene investigating.
Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting.
