Fort Worth man accused of fatally shooting wife’s ex-boyfriend taken into custody

Kendale Deon Jamison went to a Fort Worth apartment Friday afternoon, banged on a door and wanted to enter the apartment to talk to Tyeshia Osby Scott.

Osby Scott and Jamison had been together for about two months before she decided to give her marriage with Stanley Scott Jr. another try, the woman told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Monday afternoon.

Stanley Scott Jr. helped his wife move into her new apartment, and she had been there for about two weeks, she said.

“He (Jamison) was upset and came over to the apartment,” Osby Scott said. “He started banging on the door and we didn’t know who it was because we had just moved there. I called 911 and said someone was trying to break into our apartment.”

The apartment door opened as Stanley Scott Jr. confronted Jamison, she said.

“He (Jamison) reached into his jacket like he was going to pull something out,” Osby Scott said. “Stanley pulled out his gun and shot him.”

Police said Monday it appeared Jamison was shot as he attempted to break into the apartment.

By Sunday, Stanley Scott Jr., 34, was arrested and accused of killing Jamison.

Stanley Scott Jr. was booked into the Fort Worth Jail shortly before 4:30 p.m. Sunday and faces a charge of murder in the death of Kendale Deon Jamison, 44, of Fort Worth.

Jamison died at a Fort Worth hospital Friday afternoon, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office website on Monday. A ruling on his death is pending.

Police responded to a burglary call at Osby Scott’s apartment, where they found Jamison with an apparent gunshot wound.

Jamison was shot at about 2 p.m. Friday during a struggle at the Casa Villa apartments in the 6000 block of Oakway Lane in east Fort Worth, police said.

Osby Scott said she and her husband had been married for nine years, but she left him in April 2018. She found a home in Fort Worth where she lived with her teenage children.

Before December, Osby Scott said, Jamison had stayed at her home on several occasions, but she and her husband decided to give their marriage another chance.

“I knew he (Jamison) would be upset,” she said. “Before he came over Friday, he kept calling me.”

Osby Scott said she didn’t know Jamison knew where she been living the past two weeks.

She said Monday her husband was defending his family.

Stanley Scott Jr. was moved to the Tarrant County Jail and remained there Monday in lieu of $100,000 bail.
