Man, 44, ID’d as victim in fatal shooting at Fort Worth apartment complex

A 44-year-old Fort Worth man has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting at an apartment complex Friday afternoon that apparently involved a burglary, authorities said.

Kendale Deon Jamison was pronounced dead at 3:01 p.m. Friday inside John Peter Smith Hospital, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. in the Casa Villa apartments in the 6000 block of Oakway Lane, police said.

There was reportedly a struggle before the man was shot.

The call was initially reported as a burglary in progress, according to a police call log.

No arrests were announced as of Saturday, and police didn’t provide any updates on the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting.
