New retail shops opening in Southlake Town Square later this year
Southlake Town Square is getting ready to welcome a few new stores and more are expected to open later this year joining the likes of Apple, ALO, Aritzia, Fatherly and Madewell.
Southlake Town Square is one of the premier shopping destinations in Northeast Tarrant County, with 130 acres of mixed use space.
According to Visit Southlake’s website, the open-air shopping district has “more than 120 shops, casual and fine dining restaurants” and a Hilton Hotel.
Kite Realty Group, a real estate investment trust which owns and operates Southlake Town Square among more than a dozen other shopping centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and about 200 shopping centers nationwide, said business in the area is growing.
“I handle the stuff in Texas and Oklahoma, and I can tell you that Texas is absolutely on fire right now, just tons of activity, probably some of the best activity we’ve seen,” said Vice President and Senior Leasing Director Jason Kasal. “I’ve worked on Town Square for about 25 years, and this is probably the most activity I’ve seen at Town Square in that time.”
Kasal said that the mix of tenants at the square has started to reflect the market better.
“We’re seeing some off-the-charts numbers in terms of sales,” Kasal said. “There’s now multiple and multiple retailers that their sales are so strong that they might be store number four in their chain in the country, or store number seven in their chain in the country out of maybe 200 stores.”
Kasal said some of those sales are so strong that it is attracting more retailers.
Around a week ago, Swarovski crystal opened its new store at the Town Square, which Kasal said is Swarovski's latest format. The store is next door to Flower Child restaurant on Main Street.
7th Avenue, a functional and luxury direct to customer furniture showroom, also opened at the square on Prospect Street. It is known for its modular sofas. KRG also brought the store to its Legacy West Shopping Center in Plano.
