Hurst man hit, killed by truck as he tried to cross North Texas street, police say
A Hurst man was killed Thursday night when he was struck and killed by a truck as he attempted to cross a Lewisville street, authorities said Friday.
The driver of the truck stopped immediately after the accident, and Lewisville police do not believe intoxication was a factor in the crash.
The victim was 29-year-old Joshua Ryan Black, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. Black died from blunt-force trauma and his death was ruled an accident.
The crash occurred about 9 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of East Round Grove Road in Lewisville.
Lewisville police were called to the scene for a report of a deceased person in the road.
Witnesses told Lewisville police that Black was hit and killed by a Dodge truck as he tried to cross the street.
Black was trying to cross in a dark and unprotected area of the road, Lewisville police said.
