72-year-old killed on interstate while fixing pallets on trailer, Fort Worth police say
A person hit and killed a 72-year-old man while driving in west Fort Worth on Thursday night, police said.
Condy Lee Williams had been adjusting a load of pallets on a trailer on I-30 near Chapel Creek Boulevard at about 8:22 p.m. A driver heading westbound hit Williams on the side of the road.
The driver left the scene, according to the police report, and a witness called police about the accident.
Fort Worth police found the driver, who was then taken into police custody. Police believe the driver may have been distracted by marijuana at the time of the crash.
Williams, who was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner, died at the scene from his injuries. He lived in Willow Park.
