Video shows armed serial robbers rush into Haltom City convenience store

Detectives continued their search Tuesday for two men accused in a carjacking and a robbery on consecutive days in Haltom City.

Area police officials believe the men are also responsible for holdups in Fort Worth and Hurst.

Haltom City police released a video of the July 8 holdup in hopes that someone would recognize the men and contact police.

The video showed two armed men wearing dark hooded jackets rush into Doc’s Food Store No. 7 at 1718 Haltom Road in Haltom City. One man stayed by the door as a lookout. The other man ran behind the counter and demanded money.

Two women employees wearing masks opened a cash register and filled a plastic bag with money.

When the robber grabbed the plastic bag, the employees got on their knees as he fled the store. A third employee chased the men out of the store. The men fled in a car that matched the description of one that had been stolen the day before.

On July 7, carjackers stole the car of an electrician who was parked in the 3100 block of Glenda Avenue while he waited for his coworkers. The car is a dark silver 2012 Toyota Camry with Texas license plate BGB-8647. The vehicle has a shattered rear window.

Surveillance video from a nearby Haltom City home showed that the suspects arrived in a dark Chrysler 300 sedan with large, star-shaped rims.

Anyone with information should call Haltom City police at 817-222-7000

Editor’s note: The description of what the female employees of Doc’s Food Store No. 7 at 1718 Haltom Road were wearing was incorrect in an earlier version of this story. They were wearing face masks.
