Armed serial robbers strike on consecutive days in Fort Worth suburb, police say
Serial robbers have hit Haltom City in consecutive days, and detectives believe the same two suspects are responsible for robberies in Fort Worth and Hurst.
The suspects struck on Tuesday and Wednesday in Haltom City, robbing an electrician one afternoon and stealing money from a convenience store the next day.
No injuries have been reported, but at least one of the robbers has been armed.
Haltom City detectives believe the suspects and vehicles in the Haltom City holdups appear to be involved in similar robberies in Hurst and Fort Worth. Details on those holdups were not available.
The robberies in Haltom City began at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 3100 block of Glenda Avenue.
An electrician was waiting in his car on the street for other workers to arrive when two men on foot approached him and ordered him out of his vehicle at gunpoint.
Surveillance video from a nearby Haltom City home showed the suspects had been dropped off in the area. The car they were in was a dark Chrysler 300 sedan with large, star-shaped rims.
After the electrician got out of the vehicle, the suspects jumped into his car and drove away. The car is a dark silver 2012 Toyota Camry with Texas license plate BGB-8647. The vehicle has a shattered rear window.
On Wednesday at about 11:30 a.m., two men walked into Doc’s Food Store Number 7 at 1718 Haltom Road in Haltom City. Witnesses told police one of the men was armed with a handgun, demanded money and later fled. The suspects got into the 2012 Toyota Camry which had been stolen on Tuesday.
A Chrysler 300 with large, star=shaped rims followed the Toyota Camry. The vehicles were last seen getting on northbound Airport Freeway in Haltom City.
