Gunman may have been defending someone in Fort Worth-area shooting, police say
A gunman who critically wounded another man Tuesday morning in North Richland Hills may have been defending another person, North Richland Hills police said Thursday.
The gunman was released from custody after detectives investigated the shooting.
North Richland Hills police did not release the name of the gunman pending the investigation.
Authorities did not release any other details on the shooting.
The man who was shot was in critical condition on Tuesday, but an update on his condition was not available on Thursday.
North Richland Hills police responded to a call about a disturbance between two men about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 6900 block of Northeast Loop 820.
When they arrived, patrol officers located the suspected shooter and detained him.
The wounded man, who authorities did not identify, was located nearby. Officers and paramedics provided medical aid and took him to a local hospital.
