Two North Texas sanitation workers recently rescued an elderly dog named Scooby from a storm drain.

The City of Garland said two of its workers named Allen and Garrett were in the right place at the right time earlier this month when they saw the dog fall into the drain. The duo sprung into action without hesitation and saved the pooch from the drain.

After the rescue, the duo contacted Garland’s animal services department, which brought Scooby in for a checkup.

Soon after, Scooby’s owner claimed him, according to the city.

“This heartwarming incident highlights the vigilance and compassion of our sanitation crews, and we are incredibly proud to have staff like Allen and Garrett who consistently go above and beyond their daily duties to serve our community,” the city wrote on Facebook.
