Editor’s note: The video at the top of this story is from 2017.

Danny’s Greek Cafe will replace the old Mr. Gatti’s Pizza on Horne Street, according to permit filings with the City of Fort Worth.

Mr. Gatti’s Pizza opened at 2812 Horne Street, Fort Worth in 2023 and closed earlier this year. The chain restaurant still has a Fort Worth location open at 5203 McCart Ave., Suite 205.

This will be the first Danny’s Greek Cafe location. This 1,382 square foot space is located next to Schezuan Chinese Restaurant and across the street from the new La La Land Cafe off of Camp Bowie Boulevard.

Other Greek restaurants in Fort Worth include Greek House restaurant on Forest Park, Jazz Cafe on Montgomery Street and Greek Cafe in Alliance.

Danny’s Greek Cafe comes from Joe Lusha, the same owner of Joe’s Pizza Italian Cuisine and Bar. This pizza parlor has been open in Fort Worth at 5440 Gran Via St. since 2021. However, the Lusha family opened the original Joe’s Pizza on Hulen Street in 2004.

Camp Bowie is undergoing $13 million worth of construction from Montgomery Street to University Drive. The revamp will include new sidewalks, re-paved concrete and lighting enhancements. It is expected to wrap up in summer 2027.
