Yes, Alice Walton is still the richest resident in Dallas-Fort Worth — and the richest woman in the world.

Forbes releases its World’s Billionaires List every year. In 2025, the U.S. still holds the title for the most billionaires with 902 of them, led by Elon Musk in the No. 1 spot.

Dallas-Fort Worth is once again home to quite a few.

1. Alice Walton

Alice Walton is the only daughter of Walmart founder, Sam Walton. She has accumulated her wealth from Walmart although she focuses her time on curating art rather than working for the family business. She opened Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in northwest Arkansas in 2011 as well as founded a holistic health institution named the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine.

Jerry Jones started in oil investments in the 1970s but in 1989, he caught the Dallas Cowboys for $150 million. Now, the franchise is worth $10 billion. In addition to his sports and oil investments, Jones is an avid art collector.

Robert Rowling sold his family’s oilfields for $500 million to purchase Omni Hotels in 1996. He completed a $170 million renovation of Omni Barton Creek Resort in Austin in 2019.
