Arlington police are investigating after a man’s body was found below a train bridge on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded about 12:20 p.m. to the scene near Stadium Drive and Elder Drive, where the body was found underneath the bridge, police said.

Investigators determined it did not appear the man was hit by a train, but rather that he “jumped or fell” off the bridge, police said.

A train that was in the area at the time stopped on the tracks. As a result, railroad crossings at Stadium Drive, and Collins and Center streets were blocked but have now reopened, police said about 1:40 p.m.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the man who died after his next-of-kin have been notified, and will determine the official cause and manner of death.
