A 15-year-old boy died after a car crashed into a utility pole in south Fort Worth on Tuesday night, authorities said.

Officers responded to the crash about 8:30 p.m. Sept. 9 in the 3500 block of Childress Street, police said.

An occupant of the car, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 15-year-old Fabian Lee Prado, was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital, where he died in the emergency room, police said.

Prado’s family has a GoFundMe account to raise money for funeral expenses. “We trust that Fabian rests in the eternal peace of the Lord and that his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him,” the family wrote in Spanish.

Traffic detectives are investigating the circumstances that led to the crash, police said.
