Community raising funds to help family of pregnant woman killed in Arlington crash

Authorities have released the name of a pregnant woman who died last week when a man driving the wrong way on an Arlington road caused a collision of four vehicles.

Ashley Medina Bare was pronounced dead at a hospital, according to a police report.

The Grand Prairie Youth Football Association wrote on Facebook that Medina Bare was a former cheer coach. A gofundme.com listing has sought donations to help her family.

“Ashley and baby boy were hit head on and both lives were lost,” the GoFundMe post says.

The youth football association held a candlelight vigil in memory of “Coach Ashley” Tuesday night at Parkhill Park in Grand Prairie.

Tristan Bustillos, 27, was driving a Ford Taurus south in northbound lanes at the time of the Jan. 30 collision in the 4300 block of Matlock Road, police have said. Bustillos, a youth soccer club coach who lived in Arlington, died at the scene.

The Taurus struck a northbound sport utility vehicle, and two other vehicles became involved in the collision, police said.

Medina Bare was in the Infiniti QX50 that was struck by Bustillos’ car, police said.

Medina Bare’s mother, Rosa Castillo, 53, also was in the SUV, police said. She suffered serious injuries, but her prognosis on Thursday was good, police said.

The police have not ruled out speed as a possible factor. An investigation of the case is incomplete.
