H-E-B to open Metroplex’s second budget-friendly Joe V’s Smart Shop this month

H-E-B will be opening its second Joe V’s Smart Shop in the Metroplex later this month.

The store at 7700 Samuel Blvd. in Dallas will open to shoppers at 7 a.m. on March 26. At 55,000 square feet, the store is smaller than a traditional H-E-B, but will offer many of the same products shoppers know and love, like H-E-B tortillas and guacamole.

Owned by H-E-B, Joe V’s stores are focused on offering customers high-quality, budget-friendly groceries. There are 11 Joe V’s across Texas, the majority of which are in the Houston area.

The Metroplex’s first Joe V’s opened at 4101 W. Wheatland Road in Dallas in June. A third location, slated to begin construction later this month, is planned for Irving.

Joe V’s is just one facet of H-E-B’s breakneck paced expansion in North Texas.

The grocer has opened seven locations in the Metroplex since 2022, including two Tarrant County stores in Alliance and Mansfield. H-E-B is currently building six new locations in the area, which cost a total of over $168 million.

Tarrant County’s third H-E-B, located near the Bedford-Euless line, is expected to open in mid-2026. H-E-B announced plans for its first Dallas store in January.

Based in San Antonio, H-E-B has over 435 stores across Texas and Mexico. The company also owns and operates the Central Market and Mi Tienda brands.
