La Bistro restaurant family opening new fine-dining restaurant in Burleson

The family behind La Bistro, one of the first fine-dining restaurants in north Tarrant County, will open another restaurant a little farther south.

On The Rocks Italian Bistro will be in Old Town Burleson. Just like La Bistro, the sister concept will be a fine-dining destination for date nights and special occasions.

It’s been 42 years for Hurst’s La Bistro, which was first opened by restaurateur Robert Pjetrović. The Benouared family bought La Bistro in 2016 and has upheld its community status by hosting senior proms during Covid, and raising more than $40,000 for Texas flood victims.

“We are beyond excited about what this next chapter brings and can’t wait to join the Burleson community later this year! Not just as business owners … but as residents as well,” wrote owner Jason Benouared in a Facebook post. “We’re going on all on this one!”

The only other upscale eatery in Burleson is American Revelry, with a scratch kitchen and rotating feature menu based on the 50 U.S. States.

What will be on the menu for On the Rocks Italian Bistro?

La Bistro is known for dishes like lobster bisque, spaghetti, tiramisu, chicken Marsala, lamb chops and sea bass.

On The Rocks seems to have a similar menu of steak, pastas and seafood. But in a Facebook post, the family said the new sister concept will also have “a few exciting new touches of its own.”

A popular La Bistro entrée is a Filet “On the Rocks” which is cooked at the table over heated lava stones, for $50. This, of course, will also be offered at the new sister concept.

Other teaser photos showed salmon, calamari, lobster and steak dishes.

Fine wine and curated bourbon selections and cocktails were also advertised.

Where and when will On the Rocks Italian Bistro open?

On the Rocks Italian Bistro will open at 135 W Ellison St. in Old Town Burleson, in what used to be the old Razoo’s Cajun Cafe.

An exact opening timeline has not been released. However, Benouared shared in his Facebook post that the family cannot wait to join the community later this year.
