Burgers and Tex-Mex will open in new Benbrook restaurant development
Benbrook will soon gain new burger and Tex-Mex options.
Jake’s Burgers and Beer as well as Tacos & Avocados will join a new restaurant development located off Benbrook Boulevard.
This neighborhood southwest of Fort Worth is fit with plenty of fast food options– Whataburger, Wendy’s, Jersey Mike’s, Arby’s. Though Paisano’s Italian Restaurant is across this street from the new development, the area is thirsty for more sit down, dine-in options.
Jake’s is known for its half-pound burgers served on a poppy seed bun, accompanied with hand-cut fries and cold beer. The chain has been in DFW since 1985, growing to 13 locations (soon to be 14), including one in Sundance Square. Founder Jake Keller is nephew of Dallas burger restaurateur, Jack Keller of Keller’s Drive In.
Tacos & Avocados is a newer Tex-Mex concept that first opened in Carrollton in November 2024. They are known for house-made salsa, unique cocktails and tacos made from fresh ingredients. The Benbrook restaurant will be the second location for the company.
An identical development will be going into North Richland Hills at the northwest corner of Davis Boulevard and Lola Drive. The Benbrook development will open first, while the North Richland Hills project just broke ground.
Here’s what we know about the new development and restaurant openings.
Where will the new restaurants in Benbrook be?
The new restaurants will be located at the corner of Benbrook Boulevard and Westpark Drive in Benbrook, according to a press release from MAD Concept Group, who manages both restaurants.
The restaurant development will have Jake’s, Tacos & Avocados and a 1.5-acre backyard space with a playground.
Each restaurant will be between 4,000 and 5,000 square feet, with patios and full bars.
When will the new Jake’s and Tacos & Avocados open?
The restaurant development is slated to open this spring, just in time for patio season.
MAD Concept Group envisions this space to be a community hub for families to enjoy a meal and outdoor play.
The bigger picture
This restaurant development will offer an option for Benbrook residents who don’t want to drive into the city for an outdoor, community-driven dining experience.
“People may come for the food, but they will return for the experience,” said Courtney Lindley, co-founder of MAD Concepts Group. “This project is about creating a place where the community can come together, whether that’s over a meal, in the backyard, or during everyday moments that matter.”
This new restaurant development is also expected to create 150 new jobs.
