Arlington taqueria fails in latest round of city restaurant health inspections

One Arlington restaurant had a failing score in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection reports.

The reports compiled by the Star-Telegram contain health data from April 5 through April 18 and 95 inspections.

Arlington’s city health inspections function on a 100-point scale: A score of 100 is considered to be perfect and a score of 70 is considered to be extremely poor.

Taqueria Tepito, located at 3330 Matlock Road, had a score of 66. Inspectors observed several critical violations, including improper cold and hot holding temperatures, unsafe food storage, and inadequate handwashing and glove practices, city officials said. An inspector also noted physical deficiencies like equipment in need of repair.

Taqueria Tepito also failed an inspection in April 2025, according to city records.

The restaurant is set to undergo a follow-up inspection soon, a city spokesperson said.
