DFW biscuit restaurant shutters all locations, including one in Stockyards
Doors are closed permanently at all Biscuit Bar locations in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The seven-year-old restaurant served biscuit sandwiches and tater tots for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Customers loved their hot honey chicken biscuit, Monte Cristo biscuit and blackberry tequila smash.
After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in early 2025, the restaurant had a restructuring plan that felt sustainable. However, the efforts were not enough to keep Biscuit Bar afloat, according to a Facebook statement from owners Jake and Janie Burkett.
All six locations will close, including a prominent store in Mule Alley in the Stockyards at 128 E Exchange Ave. in Fort Worth. The other restaurants were in Plano, Deep Ellum in Dallas, Coppell, Arlington and Abilene.
Here’s what we know.
Why is Biscuit Bar closing?
According to the statement, the closing is due to a few landlords unwilling to cooperate during their restructuring process.
“Their refusal to compromise or support a path forward ultimately made the sale impossible, leaving us with no legal or financial ability to continue operating,” the Facebook statement read.
This leaves more than 100 employees across the six locations out of work during the holidays. Because of this, the Burketts started a GoFundMe to support their employees and ensure every earned wage is paid.
The decision to close permanently was “the most painful decision of our lives,” the Burketts said in their post.
They are asking anyone who loved the Biscuit Bar to spread the word about the GoFundMe and continue supporting their small business.
