Southwest Farmers Market at 7070 Preston Road scored 28 on Aug. 6. A certified food manager wasn’t on site during the inspection and three employees were lacking food handler certification. The inspector also found cooked rice stored at an unsafe temperature.

The city of Frisco scores restaurants on a demerit system. Those that receive more than 30 fail and may be closed at the health inspector’s discretion. No restaurants were closed and none failed the recent inspections.
Texas Pho House at 9144 Prestmont Place scored 23 on Aug. 15. Containers of bean sprouts were being stored at room temperature. The inspector found organic matter in the ice machine and one live roach near the water heater.
More than 50 eateries out of the 109 inspected received a perfect score of zero. One of them, Jason’s Deli at 5845 Eldorado Parkway, had “Great job!” as the only comment listed under the violations section.
