Roaches in 3 Frisco restaurants, other serious violations in health inspections

Roaches were found at two Frisco restaurants and three others were found to have critical violations in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection reports.

The reports compiled by the Star-Telegram contain data and health violations from June 29 through July 12 and the results of 61 inspections.

Frisco’s restaurant inspections function on a demerit system: When the total exceeds 30 demerits, an inspector can choose to close the restaurant based on the nature of the violations, the establishment’s history and other risk factors.

Four restaurants had high demerit scores in this round of inspections:

  1. Norma’s Cafe, located at 8300 Gaylord Parkway, had a score of 29
  2. Premier Desi District, located at 12990 Eldorado Parkway, had a score of 29
  3. Dwaraka Curry Point, located at 7151 Preston Road, had a score of 27
  4. Bawarchi Biryanis, located at 8949 Coit Road, had a score of 26

Roaches were found at two restaurants:

  1. Dwaraka Curry Point, located at 7151 Preston Road, had a score of 27
  2. Concrete Cowboy, located at 3685 The Star Boulevard, had a score of 20

Three restaurants had critical health violations:

  1. Norma’s Cafe, located at 8300 Gaylord Parkway, had a score of 29. Inspectors observed meat being held above safe temperatures and waffle mix held at room temperature without a timestamp.
  2. Premier Desi District, located at 12990 Eldorado Parkway, had a score of 29. Inspectors observed missing documentation for food items in a display warmer. The food was voluntarily disposed of.
  3. Jinbeh Restaurant, located at 2693 Preston Road, had a score of 22. Inspectors observed items in sushi and bar prep coolers stored above a safe cold holding temperature.
