Plano hospital cited for unsafe food. Roaches in restaurant health inspections
A Plano hospital was warned for unsafe food storage temperatures and another restaurant was noted to have roach issues in the latest city health inspections.
The report compiled by the Star-Telegram contained data from June 22 to June 28 and the results of 69 inspections.
Plano’s restaurant inspections function on a 100-point scale: A score of 100 is considered perfect and a score of 70 is considered extremely poor.
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, located at 6200 W. Parker Road, had an overall score of 94. The hospital was issued a warning for repeat issues with food storage temperatures, according to the report. Several food items were found being stored outside of safe temperature ranges for hot or cold food and some food had to be discarded, according to the report.
Three restaurants had low scores in this round of inspections:
- Taqueria Maya, located at 1420 Jupiter Road, had a score of 70
- Great Wall Of China, located at 901 W. Plano Parkway, had a score of 71
- Shaahi Biryani, located at 3421 E. Renner Road, had a score of 74.
NT Catering & Foods, located at 6100 K Ave., had an overall score of 99 and was noted to have issues with roaches.
