‘Landman’ star wants her character to find love in season 3 of Fort Worth show

One of the stars of “Landman” is sharing her hopes for season 3.

The Paramount+ series, co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, returned for its 10-episode second season in November 2025 and aired weekly until mid-January. The show primarily filmed in and around Cowtown over its first two seasons.

“Landman” will return to Fort Worth in just a couple of months for a late August production start.

Speaking to People at the Newport Beach TV Festival, “Landman” star Michelle Randolph revealed her hopes for her character Ainsley Norris in the new season.

Here’s what she said.

Randolph wants Ainsley to find love next season.

“It might be fun for season 3,” Randolph told People. “Season 2 got a little tiring. I was like, ‘Where’s the boy?’”

Ainsley stayed boy-free in season 2, after dating two fellas in season 1.

She began season 1 dating Aledo High School quarterback Dakota Loving, but broke up shortly after arriving in Midland. Next up was Ryder Samson, a Midland High School quarterback that planned to attend Texas Tech.

In the season 2 premiere, Ainsley reveals that she and Ryder broke up after he scored a low SAT score and went off to Kilgore College rather than the home of the Red Raiders. Much of Ainsley’s season 2 plot revolves around her settling into TCU and joining the cheerleading team.

“I think for season 2, it was good that she took a break from boys and focused on herself and her cheerleading,” Randolph said. “Going into college, I feel like it’s inevitable that she’s going to find someone, and I think it’ll be fun.”

In addition to a potential new beau, Randolph wants Ainsley to find herself in season 3.

“I think her arc as the show goes on is about finding agency and realizing that she can be her own independent person,” Randolph said. “She’s able to become self-aware and realize that she’s seen, and she can figure out who she is in the world. Still, as a young woman, she’s not really sure who she is at all.”

More on ‘Landman’

“Landman” is described as a “modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of West Texas oil rigs.”

“As oil rises from the earth, so do secrets – and Tommy Norris’s (Billy Bob Thornton) breaking point may be closer than he realizes. Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Demi Moore), and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn’t noble – it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break,” the show’s second season synopsis reads.

In addition to Randolph, “Landman” stars Billy Bob Thornton, Sam Elliott, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Andy Garcia, Jacob Lofland, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Colm Feore and Mark Collie.

Both seasons of “Landman” are streaming on Paramount+.
