Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s new road trip show stops by Fort Worth

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s “Great American Road Trip” reality show made a stop in Fort Worth.

The new reality series sees Duffy, his wife and their nine children embark on a road trip across the country in support of America’s 250th birthday. The show will begin airing episodes on YouTube in early June.

Duffy and Co. spent seven months filming the show, which visited the Fort Worth Stockyards in late March, according to a Facebook post from City Councilman Carlos Flores.

Flores met up with Duffy’s wife, Rachel, and their children during the Cowtown visit. The family caught a Fort Worth Herd cattle drive and explored other offerings around the Stockyards.

A trailer for “The Great American Road Trip” released a couple of weeks ago showing a glimpse of what to expect.

The family is seen exploring several states during the four-minute trailer, which also contains a scene of Duffy telling President Donald Trump that, “To love America, is to see America.”

After the trailer released, Duffy took to X to defend the trip amongst online backlash about high gas prices and if taxpayers helped pay for the show.

Duffy said zero taxpayers dollars were spent on the show or his family. Instead, he pointed to the nonprofit, Great American Road Trip Inc., for footing the bill.

The show was filmed in one to two production windows over weekends and during his kids’ spring break, Duffy said. He also noted that he nor his family received any funds from the production.

“Our message is really simple: to love America is to see America. So put the phone down, hit the open road, and rediscover what makes America great,” Duffy wrote.
