Fort Worth school appears in series premiere of Beth and Rip’s ‘Dutton Ranch’

“Yellowstone” spinoff “Dutton Ranch” filmed its first season all around North Texas.

The Paramount+ show follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler on a new adventure in the fictional South Texas town of Rio Paloma. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprise their “Yellowstone” roles, along with Finn Little as their adopted son Carter.

Several Fort Worth and other North Texas locations appear in the “Dutton Ranch” season 1 premiere. There are also a few nods to Texas-based businesses throughout.

Here’s a look at all the locations and references featured in season 1, episode 1, “The Untold Want,” which premiered on Friday, May 15 on Paramount+ and the Paramount Network.

Ferris home

At 22:32, Beulah (Annette Bening) arrives home to look for Rob-Will (Jai Courtney).

Beulah’s house is the former home of the late Ray Wallace, CEO of Dallas-based Trinity Industries. The home is located in Ferris, Texas, about 20 miles south of downtown Dallas.

Boyd Feed Store

At 23:40, Rip (Hauser) and Azul (J.R. Villarreal) stop at a feed store.

Carter is wearing a hat from Kimes Ranch, which is headquartered in Arizona but has a storefront in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Edwards Ranch

At 28:40, Beth (Kelly Reilly) meets Beulah at her office.

Beulah tells her that she bought the Edwards Ranch, which Beth says has been renamed the Dutton Ranch.

While this ranch is fictional, there was a family-owned Edwards Ranch in Fort Worth that spanned 7,000 acres.

Founded in 1848, the land has since been developed into neighborhoods and commercial developments, including The Shops at Clearfork.

Roughnecks

At 31:07, Beth stops for a drink at Split Heart Bar.

While set at Rio Paloma High School, this was filmed at Fort Worth’s E.M. Daggett Middle School (1108 Carlock St.).

King Street Productions paid Fort Worth ISD $33,100 for access to the property across eight days, according to rental agreement obtained by the Star-Telegram through a public information request. The production company was specifically approved to use the school’s auditorium, locker rooms, gym, cafeteria, parking lots, front of the school and Room 101.

Reunion Grounds

At 39:42, Carter arrives at the Rio Paloma rodeo.
