Fort Worth’s Leon Bridges turns heads at 2025 Met Gala. See his pinstripe suit
For the second year in a row, Fort Worth’s Leon Bridges walked the Met Gala red carpet.
The 35-year-old crooner suited up on May 5 for the annual event that benefits New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. This year’s Met Gala theme was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which drew inspiration from the 2009 book “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity,” according to Vogue.
In a social media post, Bridges said the theme of Black dandyism lives in him and that it’s more than fashion, it’s a “statement of identity, history and pride.”
“For over a decade, this spirit has shaped not only my artistry but the very way I move through the world,” Bridges wrote. “Tonight, I walk in that tradition with gratitude.”
Leon Bridges’ Met Gala look
Bridges’ Met Gala look was designed by London-based designer Nicholas Daley.
The look includes a three-piece suit in pinstripe wool, flared pants, leather gloves and accessories such as cufflinks and rings. The design is inspired by the Windrush generation, Caribbean migrants who immigrated to post-war Britain, and Daley’s own Scottish-Jamaican heritage, according to Highsnobiety.
This was Daley’s first time dressing Bridges, but the singer’s fifth time overall at the gala after visits in 2015, 2017, 2021 and 2024.
The collaboration proved to be successful as Bridges made several of the best dressed lists from Esquire, British GQ and Vanity Fair.
“Today marks such a special moment in my journey. My musical path has always been deeply intertwined with how I carry myself aesthetically,” Bridges wrote on social media. “There were times I questioned my expression when it didn’t seem to resonate widely but it always kept me grounded. I was inspired by those who came before me, the trailblazers whose presence and style made space for mine.”
What’s next for Bridges?
Bridges is gearing up for a busy summer of touring.
His “Leon” tour will pick back up in New Orleans on May 16 and continue across the country until early June. After a month break, Bridges will head overseas to Europe for the international leg of the “Leon” tour in July.
After another month break, Bridges will hit the road again in late August through late September on “The Crooner and the Cowboy” tour with Charley Crockett.
