Simpson chose the Sooners over schools like Ohio State, TCU, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M.
The 6-foot-7 incoming senior was named first team all-district last season as the Texans went on to the area round - winning their first playoff game in program history.
New Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley landed his fourth high school football player from the Star-Telegram coverage area - senior Jaylon Robinson (All Saints), junior Jeff Carter (Aledo) and sophomore Jase McClellan (Aledo).
Other players from the Metroplex in the 2017 class include Kennedy Brooks (Mansfield), Robert Barnes (Southlake Carroll), Charleston Rambo (Cedar Hill), Tyrese Robinson (McKinney Boyd) and Zacchaeus McKinney (Weatherford).
