TCU coach Gary Patterson said it’s possible center Austin Schlottman and receiver KaVontae Turpin return to action this month.

“We think maybe here in a couple of weeks, we’ll get a chance for both those guys to come back,” Patterson said Monday during the Big 12 coaches conference call.

Turpin has been out since the third quarter of the Iowa State game in Week 3, reportedly with a torn knee ligament that did not require surgery. He led the nation in all-purpose yardage when he was hurt and was coming off back-to-back games with a career-high seven catches.

“Offensively, it’s taken us a little bit to adjust to getting ready to play without Turp,” Patterson said last week.

Schlottman left the SMU game in Week 4 with a foot injury. He is TCU’s top lineman, called “one of the best in the Big 12” by Patterson in fall camp.

Cornerback Jeff Gladney returned to action last week after missing the SMU game with a foot injury suffered the week before against Iowa State.
